Seattle, Washington

This area is buzzing with activity.
Our campsite in Seattle was another glorified parking lot – a slab of concrete and asphalt. We made the best of it and ventured south into the downtown area. Pike’s Place Market is a must-see destination – it’s a combination farmer’s market, flea market, and shops – fresh fish, beautiful fruit, vibrant (and cheap) flowers, crafts, and local fare. Although it’s the local tourist area, it’s the heart of the Seattle city scene.
Ode to Jan Kirsten...the original STARBUCKS!
Really, really, really good salmon sandwiches!
Seattle is filled with interesting and engaging street performers.

The video is of a woman we saw in the downtown area who was boogieing down
as a band played close by.

The Experience Music Project/Sci-Fi Museum was a place we were eager to visit. Although it has funky architecture, cool music and sci-fi exhibits, we were a bit disappointed since they have the space (no pun intended), but need more content – no Star Trek memorabilia or artifacts!?! They do have a great concert room with a huge screen with an amazing sound system that features iconic rock stars, past and present – Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Nirvana, The Doors…
Mark watching Purple Haze...
This is a massive installation of hundreds of guitars that stretch from floor to ceiling.
This is part of the Nirvana exhibit.
R.I.P. Kurt Cobain : (
A costume from Battlestar Galactica.
They have a cool AVATAR exhibit with costumes and props.
Hope you're enjoying our blog. We have about three more weeks to go until we return to the Jersey Shore. Next stop is Portland, Oregon to visit with the Melnick’s : )

Ciao’ for now.
